Christian Educators Association International

National Educators Fellowship, Inc. (NEF) was organized in 1953 by Dr. Clyde M. Narramore, a psychologist for the Los Angeles County Schools, and Benjamin S. Weiss, the principal of Metropolitan High School in Los Angeles, when they gathered 11 educators in Clyde’s home in Pasadena, California.

The group was organized in response to an expressed need that more than half of the millions of children and youth attending America’s schools have no moral and spiritual training other than that which they may incidentally receive in their public school education. Educators needed to be equipped and encouraged to meet this need.

Within a few months, their meetings grew to 150 educators who worshipped, shared testimonies, and grew more excited about what God was doing. Clyde began to travel and speak to encourage Christian educators around the country. From this beginning, the national organization expanded.

Our magazine, Teachers of Vision, began in 1955 with the “Vision” newsletter. CEAI began National Conventions in 1970 than ran through 2003, with themes such as “Christ for the Crisis in Education,” and “Learning from the Master Teacher.”

In 1984, the name of the organization was changed to Christian Educators Association International (CEAI).

Gateways to Better Education

Gateways to Better Education is a nonprofit organization founded in 1991 to help public school educators, parents and school leaders teach about the important contribution the Bible and Christianity make to the world. We show them how to do this legally and appropriately within existing constitutional boundaries, current laws, and state academic standards. We empower parents with tools to navigate the public schools so their children graduate with their faith and values intact. We guide school leaders in establishing policies and practices that protect academic and religious freedom.

Teach 4 The Heart

Is an organization designed to assist teachers in public and private schools to see God CHANGE The LIVES of the students they teach.  In public schools they strive to be a bright light in the darkness and in Christian schools to make disciples who will make disciples.  Simply put, we want to offer you uplifting, practical advice from a biblical viewpoint. While we are at it, we want to connect educators from public and private school spheres instead of dividing them.  We believe that benefits us all.

COMPASS

Compass began in 2013 as a ministry of Grace Church Eden Prairie.  Two women, an educator and a parent, were especially touched by the needs of those in the public schools.  They recognized that while there are alternatives that some may choose, many are called to the public schools.  They felt God leading them to bring Christians in their schools together to provide encouragement and to equip them to live their faith confidently within these walls.  They connected with their children's pastor who felt passionate that churches should be engaged in education.  He recognized that the church only has the ability to impact students a few hours a week and many would never set foot into a church building.  So, if a church is serious about reaching the K-12 population, and over 90% of our children spend 30+ hours each week in public schools, these schools are one of the largest mission fields in our country.  Our prayer is that by bringing together a community of Christians within each school and equipping and challenging them to show the love of Christ there, lives will be changed and communities will be transformed.

KC 360

KC360

Christian guidance in navigating the complex universe of college search and admission is vital. Working with dedicated and knowledgeable Christian professionals students will be helped to identify the institutions that would provide a good fit and where Christian students will find a welcoming environment.  KC360 is a membership organization which provides pre-college advising and monthly guidance during the process.  Completing the application, writing the required essay, understanding testing requirements, understand the complexities of financial planning and aid to scheduling campus visits are just a few of the many services provided.  Services proved by KC360 are of inestimable  value as the choice of institution and area of study often provide Christian students with a less than beneficial experience.
